OXFORD, Miss. – Parents and family of entering freshmen and
transfer students are invited to the University of
Mississippi’s Fall Parents/Family Weekend Sept. 14-15.
“The Ole Miss Parents Association is sponsoring the annual
event to provide participants the opportunity to experience
Ole Miss activities and spend some time with their sons and
daughters,” said Whitman Smith, orientation director.
Registration is free for UM students and children under age
12. For others, there is a $35 fee per person, which covers
a Friday reception at Brandt Memory House and Saturday’s
activities, including a continental breakfast and a 6 p.m.
telecast of the Ole Miss-Vanderbilt football game with
tailgate fare in Johnson Commons Ballroom.
Open houses and faculty presentations are also planned,
with times and locations to be announced. Participants will
receive a complete schedule of weekend events, campus map
and OMPA information. Parents are to be mailed a postcard
with an online address for registration. For more
