OXFORD, Miss. — The University of Mississippi Dean
of Students Office has initiated an investigation
into the events surrounding the death of Bradley
Jameson.
After receiving a toxicology report from the
Lafayette County Coroner’s office, Thomas J.
“Sparky” Reardon announced that his office is
leading an investigation into the death. Jameson,
18, a freshman from Fort Worth, Texas, died
Saturday after falling from a tree at the Beta
Theta Pi fraternity house on campus.
According to the toxicology report, Jameson’s blood
alcohol content was 0.16, twice the legal limit for
people 21 and over.
“Interviews are being conducted with his friends,
his family members and members of Beta Theta Pi
fraternity,” Reardon said in a prepared statement.
“Because several of his friends and some of the
Betas are still in Fort Worth following the
funeral, this investigation will continue into
early next week.”
Reardon said his office will follow standard
operating procedures in collecting details, and
then make a decision on how to proceed judicially.
