Jackson-area High School Students Invited to Meet with Ole Miss Reps

OXFORD, Miss. – High school juniors and seniors in the
Jackson area are invited to meet University of Mississippi
representatives Tuesday (Oct. 16) at the Mississippi
Agriculture and Forestry Museum’s Sparkman Auditorium on
Lakeland Drive in Jackson.

“An Evening with Ole Miss” is scheduled for 6:30-8 p.m.
Representatives from the offices of Admissions, Financial
Aid and Student Life plan to speak briefly on topics of
interest to freshmen and transfer students.

Representatives from the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors
College, Croft Institute for International Studies and
Student Housing, as well as from various academic
departments, will also be on hand to answer questions and
distribute information about their programs.

Advance registration is not necessary. Refreshments will be
served and door prizes awarded.

“This event will be a fun opportunity for students and
their families from the Jackson area to receive information
about Ole Miss,” said Chelsea Welch, regional admissions
counselor. “While this event can’t beat the experience of
touring our beautiful campus, we hope that bringing a piece
of Ole Miss to these students will encourage them to visit
Oxford and the university.”
