Memorial Service Set Oct. 21 for Officer Robert Langley

OXFORD, Miss. – Members of the University of Mississippi
and Oxford community are invited to celebrate the life of
UPD Officer Robert Langley at an informal memorial service
Sunday (Oct. 21) at Paris-Yates Chapel.


The service begins at 7 p.m. UPD Chief Jeff Van Slyke and
Tim Rutledge of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Alliance
for Peer Support, or MS LEAPS, are scheduled to speak at
the service. Other UPD officers also are expected to speak,
said Barbara Reynolds, administrative coordinator for
University Police and Campus Safety.

Sunday marks the first anniversary of Langleys death. He
was killed while assisting a routine traffic stop in
Oxford.

MS LEAPS is a team of trained law enforcement agents
