UM to Introduce Its New Coach Wednesday

OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Mississippi introduces
Houston Nutt as its new head football coach at noon
Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the Ford Center for the Performing
Arts.

The event is open to the public.

Friday, Coach Nutt concluded an 8-4 regular season at
Arkansas with a triple-overtime upset of then-No. 1 LSU.
He leaves Arkansas with a 10-year record of 75-48, three
SEC West championships and two trips to the SEC
Championship game. He also led Arkansas to eight bowl games
in 10 seasons.

UM Chancellor Robert Khayat said that Coach Nutt has a
distinguished Southeastern Conference record and that he
expects him “to bring a new level of enthusiasm and
leadership to our football program.”

Khayat also expects Nutt to help UM win the SEC and become
nationally competitive.

“Tomorrow is an exciting day for all of us in the Ole Miss
family,” Khayat said. “We invite everyone to come to the
Ford Center at noon and share the excitement with us.”
