A University of Mississippi conference April 1-2 explores the outlook for Southern states one year after the catastrophic oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. “The Future of the South Symposium: The Gulf Oil Spill After One Year” takes place in Barnard Observatory. Sponsored by the Endowment for the Future of the South, the event includes five panel discussions on such topics as media coverage, living-working-eating conditions, ecological concerns and recovery. All sessions are free to the public.
