Ole Miss United Way Chapter Sponsors Breakfast Buffet Nov. 21

OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Mississippi United Way campaign coordinators encourage the public to participate in a fundraiser breakfast in the Ole Miss Student Union Food Court Friday (Nov. 21).

The event runs 7:30-9:30 a.m. and costs $5 per person, on a cash basis.

“This event is part of our effort to raise at least $125,000 of the
United Way’s communitywide goal of $425,000,” said Lucile McCook,
Pullen Herbarium curator and campus committee co-chair. “The community
is counting on us to do our share.”

Ole Miss Catering is
providing the food at no cost to the campus campaign. The menu includes
scrambled eggs, grits, sausage, biscuits, gravy, fresh whole fruit,
muffins, Danish pastry, coffeecake, breakfast breads, orange juice and
coffee (regular and decaf).

“All proceeds will go to our
local United Way,” said Thelma Curry, University Police Department
officer and campus committee co-chair. “Thanks to Ole Miss Catering for
being so generous.”

More than 95 percent of the money raised for
United Way stays in Lafayette County to help fund local charities,
including the Pantry, Interfaith Compassion Ministry, American Red
Cross, Crisis Services, Meals on Wheels, Boys & Girls Clubs, Leap
Frog, Salvation Army, Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of America.

The university’s drive for the United Way is slated for completion Dec. 8.
