Chancellor Search Advisory Committee Makes Recommendations, Chooses Representatives to Interview Candidates

OXFORD,
Miss. – The Search Advisory Committee helping to find the University of
Mississippi’s next chancellor met Tuesday to review and discuss resumes
of all candidates for the position and selected those it wished to
recommend to the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher
Learning’s search committee for possible interviews.


UM’s campus advisory committee also selected eight of its members to serve on the Interview Search Advisory Committee, which will join the IHL’s search committee to interview candidates. The eight are:

? Alice Clark, vice chancellor for research and sponsored programs
? Yogini Bhavsar, president of the Graduate Student Council
? Don Cole, assistant provost, assistant to the chancellor for multicultural affairs and associate professor of mathematics
? Rose Jackson Flenorl, president of the UM Alumni Association
? Shellie Harrison, president of Staff Council
? Tim Nordstrom, associate professor of political science
? Graham Purcell, president of the Associated Student Body
? Helen Turner, associate vice chancellor for academic affairs and professor of medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center

Clark also chairs the campus Search Advisory Committee.

The Interview Search Advisory Committee and Board search committee will discuss candidates and related issues via teleconference today.
