Fitness center opens to guests at The Inn at Ole Miss

The latest addition to The Inn at Ole Miss has been completed, with the opening of the Callie Mae Swango Fitness Center to Inn guests.

The fitness center at the Alumni Association’s full-service hotel includes four state-of-the-art Trackmaster treadmills for guests’ use. The 1,200-square-foot fitness center also features two ARC personal trainers, an AbCoaster, two recumbent stationary bicycles and Magnum weight systems.

Each piece of cardio equipment has a personal flat-screen television for users.

The center opened on schedule, ahead of the Rebel football team’s home opener on Sept. 3.

In June, local voters named The Inn at Ole Miss the top hotel in The Oxford Eagle’s annual Best of Oxford rankings.

The architect on the fitness center project was Foil Wyatt Architects and Planners of Jackson. The general contractor was D. Carroll Construction of Oxford.

The fitness center, which occupies the former hotel lobby, is part of the third phase of construction at The Inn at Ole Miss and the Triplett Alumni Center. The first phase included the hotel’s new eight-story hotel tower, lobby, ballroom, restaurant and meeting spaces. The second phase included renovation of the Triplett Center offices and conference center.

The next project will be the replacement of the roof on the original section of the hotel.
