Show is part of Ford Center’s Family Friendly Series
OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Mississippi brings “The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley” to the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts Sunday (March 8).
Based on the popular children’s book series by author Jeff Brown, the musical brings the adventures of Stanley Lambchop to a new generation of families through song, dance and live theater, said Norm Easterbrook, Ford Center director.
The 3 p.m. matinee is part of the Family Friendly Series.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children under age 18. Tickets
and information about this show are available at
http://www.olemiss.edu/fordcenter/ or by calling the UM Box Office at
662-915-7411 from 10 a.m. to 4p.m. Monday-Friday.
In the musical, normal kid Stanley Lambchop is asleep in his bed one
night when a bulletin board falls on him. The next morning he wakes up
flat.
At first, being flat is not so bad. He can slide under locked doors.
His friends fly him like a kite. Stanley is the best in his class at
hide-and-seek. If he has to be flat, he is going to make the best of it.
Then, Stanley decides to put himself in a big envelope and travel the
world as a human letter. The musical follows his adventures as he
strives to become three dimensional again.
The Family Friendly Series concludes May 2 with The Gizmo Guys, a comedy juggling act.
