Panel to Discuss Race and Racial Reconciliation in the South

Arguably no state in the country has been more defined by the issue of race than Mississippi. Named after Mississippi’s former governor and JFK Profiles in Courage Award recipient, the William Winter Institute for Racial Reconciliation at the University of Mississippi is a groundbreaking organization formed to reconcile past injustices.

Former Gov. Winter joins Rose Flenorl, manager of social responsibility for FedEx Corp.; Susan Glisson, director of the Winter Institute; Otis Sanford, opinion and editorials editor for The Commercial Appeal in Memphis; Markeeva Morgan, manager of the Continuous Risk Management and Independent Technical Assessments Team at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala.; and Ronnie Agnew, executive editor of The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, are to conduct a panel discussion on racial reconciliation in the South at 1 p.m. Thursday, (Sept. 25) in Farley Hall, Room 125.
