OXFORD, Miss. – An evening of entertainment is offered at the University of Mississippi Monday (Nov. 10) featuring the Faculty Brass Quintet.
The 8 p.m. concert in the Music Building’s Nutt Auditorium is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Department of Music, the program features music written especially for brass quintet performance.
Quintet members are music faculty Charles Gates and John Schuesselin on trumpet, Robert Gilbert on horn, Greg Luscombe on trombone and Joe Sellmansberger on tuba.
Everyone is invited to “come hear a wide variety of original works for brass quintet,” Schuesselin said.
The evening repertoire includes “Rounds and Dances” by Jan Bach, “Colchester Fantasy” by Eric Ewazen, “Three American Portraits” by Bruce Broughton and “Revecy Venir du Printans” by Claude le Jeune.
