Unless you’ve been down in the sewers with Master Splinter for the last 24 hours, you probably saw something pretty hilarious that happened Thursday during the Ole Miss baseball team’s 6-4 win over TCU at the College World Series.

Flashback to the top of the seventh inning. Ole Miss was tied with TCU 4-4 when two Rebel baseball players, Brantley Bell and Evan Anderson, decided traditional rally caps weren’t good enough. They improvised Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle masks. They also crossed bats behind their backs to look like the weapons of choice for the action heroes that were hugely popular in the early 1990s and recently made a comeback. Soon after, the Rebs took the lead and never looked back.

The dugout dress up was a huge hit on social media. Ninja Turtles trended on Twitter Thursday during the game, and as of Friday morning, #Rebs and #HottyToddy are still trending. An Ole Miss Ninja Turtles Twitter account was also started during the game and by Friday morning, it had more than 900 followers. A Vine video made by SPR also got widely circulated on the Internet.

Hopefully, there won’t be a need for the clever rally outfits Friday night, when Ole Miss takes on Virginia at 7 p.m. on ESPN in a College World Series elimination game.
