Today marks a pretty big day for our department as well as the entire Ole Miss community on social media.
The University of Mississippi Facebook page has been ranked the second most engaging college/university Facebook page of its size (between 25,000 – 74,999 ‘Likes’) by VarsityOutreach.com. Varsity Outreach is a third-party website that publishes ‘The Social Side of Admissions,’ a four-part yearly blog series that provides analysis of how colleges and universities are utilizing Facebook. Within the series, Varsity Outreach ranks college and university Facebook pages by their respective engagement score, or, how active their audience is on their respective pages.
While there’s no shiny trophy or plaque for us to hang in our offices, it means we’re among the best in the country at engaging with our audiences on the platform. More importantly, it means our audience enjoys the content we create. It’s rare that we get to share our successes on social media with our followers and fans, but when we see stats like these, it reminds us how awesome our jobs are. Thanks for helping us crack the top five this year and here’s to a great 2014!
