OXFORD, Miss. The United States Air Force Band of
Mid-America performs Friday (Oct. 5) at the Gertrude C.
Ford Center for the Performing Arts.
The free 8 p.m. concert is part of homecoming week at the
University of Mississippi.
Tickets are required and can be obtained at the UM Box
Office in the Ole Miss Student Union, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., or
by calling 662-915-7411.
Norm Easterbrook, director of the Ford Center, said it is a
privilege for the Ford Center to have been selected as one
of the few venues in which this “fine performing arts
institution will appear.”
The U.S. Air Force Band has endeared itself to millions of
listeners for more than 60 years through its exhilarating
music. Since its formation in 1941, the band has brought
superb music and exciting entertainment to music lovers
around the globe, earning its reputation as America’s
International Musical Ambassadors.
The program includes selections from a broad variety of
musical genres, from classical and jazz to country and
rock. This will be a spectacular performance, a treat for
the entire family and should not be missed, Easterbrook
said.
