Hayden Wooldridge<\/p><\/div>\n

OXFORD, Miss. \u2013 Hayden Wooldridge, a third-year student with the University of Mississippi<\/a> School of Pharmacy, has been awarded a $1,000 grant from the 2020 EPIC Pharmacies student grant program.<\/p>\n

A network of 1,500 independently owned pharmacies, EPIC Pharmacies annually awards grants to 12 pharmacy students who plan to practice independent pharmacy after graduation. Woolridge joins Ole Miss student pharmacist Mary Morgan Mohamed<\/a> as the school’s second recipient for this year’s award.<\/p>\n

“I am very honored to be selected for this grant because I am very passionate about independent pharmacy,” Woolridge said.<\/p>\n

John Bentley, professor of pharmacy administration and director of the UM Center for Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management, praised Wooldridge’s work and enthusiasm for pharmacy.<\/p>\n

“Hayden is a servant leader, a committed member of the profession of pharmacy, a person of high integrity and someone who is dedicated to caring for people in her community,” Bentley said. “She is genuinely excited about her future in independent community pharmacy, where she will have the opportunity to influence the lives of her patients in so many ways.<\/p>\n

“She will be an outstanding representative for our profession and exemplifies the future of independent community pharmacy.”<\/p>\n

Wooldridge, a native of Grenada, is a member of various health and academic organizations, including the student chapter of the American Pharmacists Association and Kappa Epsilon pharmacy fraternity. She also served as a School of Pharmacy<\/a> ambassador during her first two years.<\/p>\n

“In the future, I plan to have a career in independent pharmacy and hopefully own my own pharmacy one day,” Wooldridge said. “I believe there are unlimited opportunities to improve the health of the community with independent pharmacy practice.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
