Sherrie Gussow, administrative secretary in the Department of BioMolecular Sciences<\/a>, has been named Staff Council’s Staff Member of the Month for February.<\/p>\n

To help us get to know her better, she answered some questions for Inside Ole Miss. <\/p>\n

IOM: <\/strong>How long have you worked at Ole Miss? <\/p>\n

Gussow:<\/strong> 17 years<\/p>\n

IOM: <\/strong>What is your hometown? <\/p>\n

Gussow:<\/strong> Dallas, Texas<\/p>\n

IOM: <\/strong>Talk about your favorite Ole Miss memory.<\/p>\n

Gussow:<\/strong> It’s very hard to pick just one! But I’d say my daughter graduating from Ole Miss. We walked around campus before the ceremony, taking photos of memorable places. <\/p>\n

IOM: <\/strong>What do you enjoy most about your position or the department in which you work? <\/p>\n

Gussow:<\/strong> I love that my position allows me to personally interact and administratively support our graduate students, as future science professionals, in any way I can.<\/p>\n

IOM: <\/strong>What do you like to do when you are not at work? <\/p>\n

Gussow:<\/strong> Watch sports, biopics, and Home & Garden TV. Go hear live music with the hubby.<\/p>\n

IOM: <\/strong>What is one thing on your bucket list? <\/p>\n

Gussow:<\/strong> Travel to Rome, Tuscany and Florence, Italy. <\/p>\n

IOM: <\/strong>What is your favorite movie? <\/p>\n

Gussow:<\/strong> Any movie with Denzel Washington<\/p>\n

IOM: <\/strong>What is your favorite Ole Miss tradition? <\/p>\n

Gussow:<\/strong> Football game day against Alabama. There is always tons of excitement around it.<\/p>\n

IOM: <\/strong>What is a fun fact about you?<\/p>\n

Gussow:<\/strong> I’m always ready to laugh.<\/p>\n

IOM: <\/strong>If you could have lunch with anyone alive or dead\/fictional or real, who would it be and why?<\/p>\n

Gussow:<\/strong> I would have lunch with Nina Simone in hopes that her amazing jazzy vocals would rub off on me somehow.<\/p>\n

IOM: <\/strong>What are three words you would use to describe yourself?<\/p>\n

Gussow:<\/strong> Optimistic, light-hearted, compassionate<\/p>\n

IOM: <\/strong>If you could visit one time or place in world history (past, present or future), what would it be?<\/p>\n

Gussow:<\/strong> It would be 100 years into the future to fully recognize the many efforts of those who chose to raise the dignity of all people.<\/p>\n

IOM: <\/strong>If I could be an animal for a day I would be ____ .<\/p>\n

Gussow: <\/strong>A lion, like my zodiac sign. <\/p>\n
