\n\"flatstan02.jpg\"OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Mississippi brings “The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley” to the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts Sunday (March 8).<\/p>\n

Based on the popular children’s book series by author Jeff Brown, the musical brings the adventures of Stanley Lambchop to a new generation of families through song, dance and live theater, said Norm Easterbrook, Ford Center director.<\/p>\n


The 3 p.m. matinee is part of the Family Friendly Series.<\/p>\n

Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children under age 18. Tickets

\nIn the musical, normal kid Stanley Lambchop is asleep in his bed one
\nnight when a bulletin board falls on him. The next morning he wakes up
\nflat.<\/p>\n

At first, being flat is not so bad. He can slide under locked doors.
\nHis friends fly him like a kite. Stanley is the best in his class at
\nhide-and-seek. If he has to be flat, he is going to make the best of it.<\/p>\n

Then, Stanley decides to put himself in a big envelope and travel the
\nworld as a human letter. The musical follows his adventures as he
\nstrives to become three dimensional again.<\/p>\n

The Family Friendly Series concludes May 2 with The Gizmo Guys, a comedy juggling act.<\/p>\n
