{"id":1118,"date":"2009-03-06T09:52:39","date_gmt":"2009-03-06T15:52:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ezing.me\/transfer\/?p=1118"},"modified":"2014-09-23T08:41:13","modified_gmt":"2014-09-23T13:41:13","slug":"devhollis030509","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web20.olemiss.edu\/news\/wordpress\/devhollis030509\/","title":{"rendered":"Denson Hollis Hired as Development Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ezing.me\/transfer\/wp-content\/uploads\/stories\/0309\/denson-hollis.jpg\" alt=\"denson-hollis.jpg\" style=\"margin: 5px 20px; float: left\" title=\"denson-hollis.jpg\" height=\"234\" width=\"155\" \/>OXFORD, Miss. &#8211; Denson Hollis has joined the University of Mississippi<br \/>\nOffice of Development as a development officer for the Ole Miss First<br \/>\nand Ole Miss Women&#8217;s Council scholarship programs.<\/p>\n<p>A Clarksdale<br \/>\nnative, Hollis is responsible for securing financial support for the<br \/>\ntwo initiatives, which address the critical need for scholarships for<br \/>\ndeserving students while also providing mentorship and fostering<br \/>\nleadership.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Denson is a wonderful addition to our staff,&#8221; said<br \/>\nDebbie Vaughn, assistant vice chancellor for university relations. &#8220;He<br \/>\nis committed to the success of Ole Miss students, and his work will<br \/>\nmake the university a better place for generations to come. Especially<br \/>\nin these tough economic times, it becomes even more important to ensure<br \/>\nour students are provided every opportunity we can give them, and<br \/>\nDenson will help with that mission.&#8221;<br \/>\n<br \/><!--more--><br \/>Hollis, a Lee Academy graduate, received his bachelor&#8217;s degree in political science from UM in 2001 and his master&#8217;s degree in sports management from Georgia Southern University in 2004.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Returning to Ole Miss has always been a dream and goal of mine,&#8221; Hollis said. &#8220;I care deeply for the University of Mississippi and have always felt a strong connection to it. I&#8217;m looking forward to reaching out and visiting with Ole Miss alumni and friends about charitable giving opportunities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Before returning to the university, Hollis was employed with Third Party Solutions in Nashville, Tenn., where he served as pharmacy development coordinator with primary responsibilities of marketing workers compensation programs to Wal-Mart pharmacies throughout a six-state region. Other previous positions include sales and marketing experience with Oncology Therapeutics Network and Yellow Book USA, both also based in Nashville.<\/p>\n<p>Hollis also has additional work experience with the Family Circle Tennis Center in Charleston, S.C.
