\nMiss. – To honor the memory of the late Chris Ann Harwell, who was
\nemployed at the University of Mississippi, the UM Staff Council and
\nBlack Faculty\/Staff Organization plan to pass out purple ribbons and
\ncollect donations for Harwell’s 13-year-old daughter Jamie Caldwell
\nfrom noon to 5 p.m. Friday (April 17) and all day Monday (April 20).<\/p>\n

\nEdwards, assistant director of UM’s Physical Plant where Harwell was
\nemployed, said purple is the ribbon color for domestic violence
\nawareness, and they’re encouraging all Ole Miss employees to wear the
\nribbon all day Monday and during the “Take Back the Night” march and
\ncandlelight vigil scheduled 6:30-8 p.m. Monday at the Lyceum Circle.<\/p>\n
“We’re planning to have collection points at several campus locations where people can pick up a purple ribbon and give a donation to Chris’ daughter,” Edwards said. “Any amount will do; there’s no maximum, and all donations will be accepted and are very much needed.”<\/p>\n
