The University of Mississippi Office of International Programs has hired a new international student adviser.<\/p>\n
H. Regina George, a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a B.A. in American Studies and a minor in German, will serve as primary point of contact for international students and OIP\u2019s student programs and services, as well as the Cultural Connections Program and the various international student organizations on campus.<\/p>\n
The Office of International Programs is excited to welcome George to the university and believes that her insight will strengthen their department.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are delighted that Regina will join the Office of International Programs as its international student adviser,\u201d said Greet Provoost, director of the OIP. \u201cRegina brings great knowledge, professional experience and personal passion to the position. Our international students will be well-served with Regina as part of the OIP team.\u201d<\/p>\n
George has studied abroad in Berlin, Germany and has travelled abroad extensively since then. She worked at the University of Southern Mississippi\u2019s Office of International Students and Scholar Services for seven years, serving as primary contact to international students, and leading many international student services and programs. George also served as an Immigration Specialist at the International INTO-office at the University of South Florida in Tampa.<\/p>\n
Offering more than a decade of international student advising and program coordination experience, George will advise students on all matters related to their comprehensive experience at the university, including those related to pre-departure, campus-arrival, international orientation and immigration regulation.<\/p>\n
George\u2019s experience studying abroad in Germany ignited her passion for international travel and exploration, and she looks forward to sharing that passion with our international students.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m very excited to be joining the OIP team at Ole Miss,\u201d George said. \u201cLeaving the comfort of your family and friends can be a scary experience, but new experiences only make us stronger in character. It is so amazing to watch students grow personally, academically and professionally.
