OXFORD, Miss. – The School of Business Administration at the University
\nof Mississippi is helping businesses to identify and recruit some of
\nthe country’s best talent, a venture that provides huge benefits to
\nboth employers and students.

<\/p>\n
\nThe school, recently ranked in the top 5 percent nationally by U.S.
\nNews and World Report, is sponsoring Ole Miss Business Day to help
\nrecruiters meet top students face to face. The event is set for 10 a.m.
\nOct. 8 in the Inn at Ole Miss Ballroom.\n<\/p>\n
\n“You know your school is very successful when it’s recognized by
\noutside agencies like U.S. News and World Report,” said Ken Cyree, dean
\nof the business school. “This shows that we’re having a great impact on
\nour students and they are getting the education they need to go out and
\nbe successful in a competitive marketplace.”\n<\/p>\n
\nMore than 25 companies have already registered to attend Ole Miss Business Day.\n<\/p>\n
\n“We are looking for folks with a strong desire to excel, to be part of
\na winning team and who are willing to work hard to learn,” said Bill
\nFry, CEO of Oreck and an Ole Miss alumnus. “We expect to find a few
\ncandidates who we think would be a good fit with Oreck, as well as let
\nstudents know that Oreck is a great place to start one’s career.”\n<\/p>\n
\n“We are recruiting talented students graduating with a BBA or an MBA,”
\nsaid R. Scott Taylor, controller of commercial customer satisfaction
\nfor AutoZone. “We have hired a number of Ole Miss graduates over the
\npast five years. We know the analytical skills that business school
\nstudents have upon graduation and their ability to quickly contribute
\nto the team.”\n<\/p>\n
\nThe annual event provides students with career planning assistance. It
\nalso gives them a chance to connect with hiring employers, to network
\nwith alumni and to attend a seminar, where they can learn career tips
\nfrom a successful business person.\n<\/p>\n
\n“Students will be able to meet potential employers and show them how
\ncapable they are,” Cyree said. “Businesses can very cost-effectively
\nsee many students in one short time period. It’s really a win-win, both
\nfor the students and the employers.”\n<\/p>\n
