Event is One of Four Football Practices Open to Fans<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

OXFORD, Miss. \u2013 As preseason camp nears for Ole Miss’ fall sports, fans should make their plans for the UMAA “Meet The Rebels Day,” presented by Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi, set for Aug. 18.<\/p>\n

Festivities begin with a football team scrimmage at 9:30 a.m. at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Afterward, fans can make their way to the Indoor Practice Facility, which opens at 11:30 a.m.<\/p>\n

As the IPF opens, the Rebel soccer and volleyball teams will greet fans and sign autographs. Chick-fil-A and Papa John’s will be providing concessions, and official team apparel, media guides and other merchandise will be on sale.<\/p>\n

Activities include a raffle for prizes, including game experiences and exclusive memorabilia, and a kids’ zone with inflatables and other games. Representatives from Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi also will be on hand giving away merchandise and informational packets.<\/p>\n

SuperTalk Mississippi, which will air locally on 93.7 and 105.5-FM, will broadcast live from the stage beginning at noon with an on-air team led by David Kellum, the “Voice of the Rebels.”<\/p>\n

Several Ole Miss coaches and administrators will be interviewed, beginning with head football coach Hugh Freeze<\/a> at 12:15 p.m. Other guests include Athletics Director Ross Bjork, head soccer coach Matt Mott, head volleyball coach Joe Getzin and others.<\/p>\n

Football coaches and players will sign autographs and visit with fans from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., when the event comes to a close. Fans tweeting about their “Meet The Rebels Day” experience should use the hashtag #MTR12.<\/p>\n

The scrimmage will be one of four open practices of the Rebel football team’s preseason. All Saturday practices will be open, including the workout at 9:45 a.m. Aug. 4 on the practice fields. Times and locations for other Saturday practices will be announced later, and all other practices are closed to the public.<\/p>\n

Just one day after the team reports to camp, Rebel Football Media Day will be held Friday (Aug. 3), and OleMissSports.com will have exclusive coverage of the activities. RebelVision<\/a> will stream Freeze’s press conference live at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n

Once again this year, OleMissSports.com<\/a> will be on hand for every minute of the Rebels’ preseason drills with daily practice reports and RebelVision’s video highlights.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
