OXFORD, Miss. — A Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College admissions counselor at the University of Mississippi was selected to participate in the 2010 NASPA Region III New Professionals Institute.

With a record number of applicants, Ryan Upshaw was the only Mississippian selected to attend the professional development conference June 21-25 in Atlanta, Ga.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope to learn new skills and ideas from veterans in the field of higher education and bring those ideas and skills back to Ole Miss,\u201d Upshaw said.<\/p>\n

Geared toward student affairs professionals, the conference includes an intense and interactive residential week of learning, networking, sharing and professional and personal development.<\/p>\n
