The program is led by qualified university and community instructors. Attendees will be divided into two sections, one for ages 6 to 9 and another for ages 10 to 13. Enrollment is limited to 40 per session.<\/p>\n
This year’s schedule includes six weeklong athletic and enrichment activity camps throughout June and July. Each week’s games and activities revolve around a specific theme, including “Where the Wild Things Are” (nature discovery in the Oxford-Lafayette County area), “The Karate Kid” (Americans learning about Japanese culture), “Star Trek” (astronomy and team building), “Night at the Museum” (arts and crafts), “Alice in Wonderland” (adventure and fantastic games) and “The Last Airbender” (environment and Grove games).<\/p>\n
Rebel Quest not only allows children to interact with their peers and learn something new, but also gives their parents a meaningful yet affordable option for their children this summer, said Jason Wilkins, director of pre-college programs.<\/p>\n
“Keeping children active in the summer is one of the really attractive offerings in the program,” Wilkins said. “Rebel Quest gives kids something to do in a safe, educational and monitored environment.”<\/p>\n
Rebel Quest begins each weekday at 8 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m. The cost is $175 for each one-week session and includes lunch each day at Johnson Commons Cafeteria and swimming at the Turner Center pool. Each week stands alone for registration purposes.<\/p>\n
