{"id":16543,"date":"2012-10-13T21:54:51","date_gmt":"2012-10-14T02:54:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.olemiss.edu\/?p=16543"},"modified":"2014-09-23T08:31:22","modified_gmt":"2014-09-23T13:31:22","slug":"environmental-professor-speaks-oct-16","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web20.olemiss.edu\/news\/wordpress\/environmental-professor-speaks-oct-16\/","title":{"rendered":"Environmental Professor Speaks Oct. 16"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Author Katharine Wilkerson will speak Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom at the University of Mississippi as part of the National Science Foundation funded Climate Literacy Partnership in the Southeast (CLiPSE) project.<\/p>\n<p>Wilkerson will discuss and sign her book entitled \u201cBetween God and Green,\u201d a study of evangelical Christian viewpoints toward the environment and climate change.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr. Katharine Wilkerson studies the emerging perceptions and attitudes of many in the evangelical Christian community toward environmental issues in general and climate change more specifically,\u201d said David Rutherford, executive director of the Mississippi Geographic Alliance and assistant professor of public policy and geography.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer book, titled \u2018Between God and Green,\u2019 emerges from her extensive research on this topic.
