{"id":17849,"date":"2012-11-12T13:54:30","date_gmt":"2012-11-12T19:54:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.olemiss.edu\/?p=17849"},"modified":"2014-09-23T08:31:17","modified_gmt":"2014-09-23T13:31:17","slug":"um-wind-ensemble-perform-thursday-nutt-auditorium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web20.olemiss.edu\/news\/wordpress\/um-wind-ensemble-perform-thursday-nutt-auditorium\/","title":{"rendered":"UM Wind Ensemble To Perform Thursday In Nutt Auditorium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.olemiss.edu\/depts\/band\/ensembles.html\" target=\"_blank\">University of Mississippi Wind Ensemble<\/a> presents: &#8220;The Music of Andrew Fox,&#8221; on Thursday, November 15, at 8:00 PM in Nutt Auditorium.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Andrew Fox, a native of Oxford and University of Mississippi alumnus, taught in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.olemiss.edu\/depts\/music\/\" target=\"_blank\">Department of Music<\/a> at the University of Mississippi for more than 30 years.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to being a prolific arranger with hundreds of marching band, concert band, jazz band, choral, orchestral and ensemble arrangements to his credit, Fox acted as the staff arranger for the University of Mississippi\u00a0 marching band in the late 1960&#8217;s through the mid 1970\u2019s. Fox has also composed many original band compositions, many of which have been published and performed by bands across the nation. Fox is still an active arranger, composer, and musician, and plays keyboards in many different bands in the mid-south area.
