Dr. Scott Stringer<\/p><\/div>\n

JACKSON, Miss. \u2013 Dr. Scott Stringer of Ridgeland, chair of the Department of Otolaryngology and Communicative Sciences at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, has assumed the presidency of the Association of Academic Departments of Otolaryngology.<\/p>\n

Across the United States and Canada, the AADO represents and promotes the shared interests of academic institutions\u2019 departments of otolaryngology, a specialty concerned with the ear, nose and throat. The organization\u2019s past president-elect, Stringer took office Nov. 4 and will serve a two-year term as president.<\/p>\n

Stringer was also chosen president-elect of the Society of University Otolaryngologists-Head and Neck Surgeons at the organization\u2019s annual meeting this month. The SUO represents all faculty members in university otolaryngology programs nationwide. Its tasks include providing guidelines for resident education and blueprints for teaching medical students.<\/p>\n

Stringer will ascend to the presidency in 2013.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
