OXFORD, Miss. \u2013 The Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Mississippi presents Neil Simon’s semi-autobiographical play “Biloxi Blues” on Tuesday (March 5).
\n\"\"<\/a>“Biloxi Blues” follows the adventures of Eugene Morris Jerome and his fellow Army inductees as they struggle through basic training near Biloxi in 1943.<\/p>\n

Norm Easterbook described the hit play as a “witty and emotional rollercoaster.”<\/p>\n

“With ‘Biloxi Blues,’ Neil Simon was able to bring a sense of humor and humanity while addressing the fears, anxieties and loneliness of young recruits headed to war,” Easterbrook said. “This is an amazing work and a must-see.”<\/p>\n

Tickets for the 7 p.m. concert presented by Montana Repertory Theatre are from $28 to $33.50 for various seating and available by visiting the UM Box Office in the Student Union or by calling 662-915-7411.<\/p>\n

“Biloxi Blues” is the second of three plays centered around 20-year-old Jerome, who is drafted into the U.S. Army during WWII. Throughout the play, Jerome is determined to accomplish three things: become a writer, not die in war and lose his virginity.<\/p>\n

Montana Repertory Theatre, one of the oldest and most respected touring companies in the country, was established as a professional touring company in 1967.<\/p>\n
