OXFORD, Miss. \u2013 University of Mississippi student Brooke Fratesi of Leland has been chosen as the Applied Sciences Student of the Month.<\/p>\n
A sophomore majoring in communication sciences and disorders, Fratesi hopes to go into audiology or speech pathology after graduation. While she has not decided exactly what she wants to do with her major, Fratesi sees herself working with children.
\n “I chose audiology and speech pathology because I found them very interesting, and it would also give me the opportunity to help children improve their speech and language skills as well as social skills and learning skills in some cases,” she said.<\/p>\n
Fratesi has had opportunities to join many organizations in her time at Ole Miss. She is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association and the Ole Miss varsity cheerleading squad. All these experiences have been her favorite part of Ole Miss.<\/p>\n
“I have loved cheering and all the new friends I have made,” Fratesi said. “I chose Ole Miss for my undergraduate school because I love the campus, and I love the town of Oxford. I am so happy with my decision and I can’t imagine being anywhere else.”<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Fratesi has maintained a 3.9 GPA and is a member of Gamma Beta Phi honor society. A graduate of Washington School in Greenville, she is the daughter of Kenny and Joy Fratesi of Leland.<\/p>\n
