ACT 4<\/p><\/div>\n

OXFORD, Miss. \u2013 The Magazine Innovation Center at the University of Mississippi<\/a> is preparing for its fourth annual Amplify, Clarify & Testify, or ACT, Experience conferment this week at the Overby Center for Southern Journalism and Politics<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year’s event will focus on digital and print as an integrated force \u2013 not either\/or, but a conjoining of the two entities to bring an audience of readers, advertisers and consumers the best possible experience when it comes to their magazine entertainment and enjoyment. ACT 4 will open with a reception and dinner Tuesday evening (Nov. 5) \u00a0and continue with seminars and lectures on Wednesday and Thursday (Nov. 6-7).<\/span><\/p>\n

The conference begins at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday with a welcome by Samir Husni, the Magazine Innovation Center’s founder and director. Panel discussions on topics including New Magazine Launches, the Future of Print and the Printing Presses, Creating Editorial Content That Sells, The Magazine Distribution Channel and The Challenges It Faces will be moderated and conducted for the combined audience of students, professionals and the public. <\/span><\/p>\n

Keynote speeches will be presented by notable figures in magazine media, printing, distribution and marketing, including Billy Morris, CEO of Morris Communications; Reed Phillips, CEO and managing partner of desilva+Phillips; Rich Jacobsen, president & CEO of Time Warner Retail Sales & Marketing; Lisa Scott, executive director of the Periodical and Book Association of America; and Franska Stuy, editor-in-chief of Libelle magazine in The Netherlands.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Magazine Innovation Center, a not-for-profit organization, is an international collaboration between the best thinkers in publishing, printing, advertising and distribution. MIC seeks to generate focused innovation in magazines and other print media.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ACT Experience helps motivate students and gives them an opportunity to collaborate side-by-side with media professionals in an atmosphere conducive to creativity and innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n
