Megabus will now make a stop in Oxford<\/p><\/div>\n

OXFORD, Miss. \u2013 University of Mississippi faculty, staff and students can travel express to Memphis, New Orleans and Jackson for as low as $1, thanks to the latest expansion of Megabus.com.<\/p>\n

The launch into Mississippi marks the 34th state in which Megabus operates. Three daily arrivals and departures are scheduled from the university’s Kudzu Lot on Old Taylor Road.<\/p>\n

UM officials are equally enthusiastic about the new bus service’s arrival.<\/p>\n

“We are excited Megabus.com is bringing this service to Oxford and the University of Mississippi community,” said Clay Jones, assistant vice chancellor and director of human resources and contractual services for the university. “Our students will appreciate the low fares, Wi-Fi and route options, and having a stop right on campus will be very convenient for everyone.<\/p>\n

“Megabus is a very economical way for UM and Oxford people to have transportation to these three major cities,” said Buster Clark, interim director of UM parking and transportation. “Company officials stress that the buses run on a tight schedule, so passengers should be ready to leave at the scheduled departure times.”Oxford-area customers can travel to these three cities in approximately the same amount of time it would take to drive themselves, without the stress of being behind the wheel. Passengers can recline, rest and even sleep, or, if they prefer, stay connected and entertained with free Wi-Fi and power outlets in every seat on the double-decker buses.<\/p>\n

Customers are encouraged to book early to secure the best rates.<\/p>\n

“The $1 fares go quickly, but there are many other great fares available if you book early,” said Mike Alvich, vice president of marketing and public relations for Megabus.com\/Coach USA. “Traveling on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays is another great way Oxford customers and all travelers can secure the best Megabus.com fares.”<\/p>\n
