Along with the New Year and new beginnings often comes a bit of a let down. For me, that is directly tied to the end of the college football season.<\/p>\n
During fall, my husband and I spend (likely way too many) hours planning to welcome family and friends to Ole Miss, tailgating in the Grove and enjoying all the football season has to offer. Our wonderful group of merry Grove revelers look forward to the fellowship, food and all of the SEC football we can take in prior to kickoff and post-game. We experience highs and lows directly tied to the touchdowns, dropped passes, terrific tackles and final scores from the action on the field. We simply enjoy every minute of it, particularly when friends come from out of town to experience it with us and also when we can travel to support the Rebels on the road.<\/p>\n
Now, with the Ole Miss football season over, thankfully ending on a high note of a win in the Music City Bowl, and the SEC season closed with a great showing in the last BCS national championship, I\u2019m left feeling a bit quiet. There is much to look forward to on campus and around Oxford, including other great competitive sports, performing arts, music festivals and building for the future. As I take in any number of these events, inside, I\u2019ll still spend the next few weeks and months being a bit still, missing college football and looking forward to the Rebels kicking off the 2014 season on August 28 in Atlanta.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
