JACKSON, Miss. \u2013 When cardiac patient Sharon Mackey goes home, she\u2019ll take with her at least two mementos from her stay at UMMC, she said: \u201ca warm blanket and a warm heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bright red blanket, one of a number distributed to cardiac patients to recognize today\u2019s National Wear Red Day, was presented by Dr. Alan Simeone and Dr. Matthew deShazo, two of her physicians.<\/p>\n

The heart was a gift from an unnamed donor and the donor\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
