\nOXFORD, Miss. – The administrative staff of the Mississippi
\nSmall Business Development Center, located at the
\nUniversity of Mississippi, has been selected as the 2007
\nState Star.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nPat Jones and Jo Ann Harris compose the entire state office
\nadministrative staff. Since most staffs include eight to10
\npeople, Jones and Harris show they are exemplary
\nperformers, making a significant contribution to the MSBDC
\nprogram and demonstrating a strong commitment to small
\nbusiness, said State Director Walter “Doug” Gurley.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\n“I am pleased to make this announcement, and to recognize
\nthe smallest but mightiest support staff in the nation for
\ntheir extraordinary contributions to the work of the
\nMississippi SBDC and small business through out the entire
\nstate,” Gurley said.
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n“It is an honor to accept this award and to have the
\nopportunity to help so many people achieve the dream of
\nstarting and succeeding in their own business,” Harris
\nsaid.
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nAmerica’s Small Business Development Center Network is a
\npartnership uniting private enterprise, government, higher
\neducation and local nonprofit economic development
\norganizations. It is the Small Business Administration’s
\nlargest partnership program, providing management and
\ntechnical assistance to help Americans start, run and grow
\ntheir own businesses.
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nWith about 1,000 centers across the nation, the SBDC
\nnetwork assists approximately 725,000 small businesses
\nevery year in face-to-face counseling and training, in
\naddition to assisting hundreds of thousands more small
\nbusinesses through fax-on-demand and e-mail.
