Marilu Henner<\/p><\/div>\n

OXFORD, Miss. — Mary Donnelly\u00a0Haskell and friends,\u00a0Marilu Henner, Guy Hovis, Mary Lane Haskell and the Mississippi Delta\u2019s Buford Family, come to the University of Mississippi Saturday (April 12)\u00a0for an evening of beloved songs from Hollywood and Broadway.<\/p>\n

\u201cSounds of Stage and Screen\u201d will be performed at 7 p.m.\u00a0in the\u00a0Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts<\/a>. A collection of movie and stage memorabilia will\u00a0be on display in the Ford Center lobby.\u00a0The memorabilia,\u00a0including\u00a0posters and\u00a0playbills,\u00a0are on loan from Archives and\u00a0Special Collections<\/a>\u00a0in the J.D. Williams Library.<\/p>\n

An accomplished actress and singer, Haskell was most recently seen as Dolly Levi in the successful production of “Hello Dolly!” at the Oxford Shakespeare Festival. She\u00a0has had numerous appearances in Los Angeles and regional stage productions such as “The Light In The Piazza,” for which she won an LA Theater Critics Award. She is\u00a0an Ole Miss alumna.<\/p>\n

Golden Globe-nominated actress and singer Marilu Henner<\/a> will accompany Haskell. Henner had a prominent role as Elaine Nardo in the comedy “Taxi.”<\/i> She\u00a0has performed with such celebrities as John Travolta in the production of “Grease,” Steve Martin in “L.A. Story” and Burt Reynolds in the comedy “Evening Shade.”<\/p>\n

Tupelo native Guy Hovis will also join the cast. Hovis is an Ole Miss alumnus who got his start to fame as one of the featured acts on the syndicated television series “The Lawrence Welk Show.” Hovis was also a guest on the Johnny Cash, Merv Griffin and Mike Douglas programs.<\/p>\n

Mary Lane Haskell, daughter of Sam and Mary Donnelly Haskell, is\u00a0a singer, actor and dancer who is\u00a0working and living in New York City. She\u00a0made her solo debut at Carnegie Hall at age\u00a017.\u00a0In 2011, she was named one of Broadway\u2019s Rising Stars. She is slated to\u00a0make an appearance on the ABC hit series, “Scandal”\u00a0Thursday\u00a0(April 10).<\/p>\n

The Mississippi Delta\u2019s Buford Family has performed in countless concerts\u00a0around Mississippi, including the Bologna Center at Delta State University and 10 sold-out Christmas Concerts at the Alluvian Hotel in Greenwood.<\/p>\n
