Regina George<\/p><\/div>\n

OXFORD, Miss. \u2013 Regina George, international programs adviser at the University of Mississippi, has been elected as chair of the Mississippi Association of International Educators<\/a>, or MAIE.<\/p>\n

Association members selected George as their new leader during the group’s annual spring meeting in February. George, who recently completed her service as chair-elect and has begun her term as chair, will complete the three-year commitment as past chair next year.<\/p>\n

George has been involved with MAIE for nine years and has gained training, professional development and networking opportunities to help her in her role as an advocate for international education and global workforce development. She said she is looking forward to fulfilling the confidence placed in her by colleagues who selected her for this role.<\/p>\n

“I believe you never stop learning. My service to MAIE will further my knowledge of immigration matters and strengthen my leadership skills,” George said. “Those assets provide me an insight to pass along to our international students for future use in their professional lives. I’m also able to network with other higher education institutions to gather ideas and innovate the services and programming offered by the Office of International Programs.”<\/p>\n

AT UM, George is responsible for assisting students with immigration matters, organizing workshops and programming, communicating with incoming and current international students, and maintaining a working relationship with the university’s international student-based organizations.<\/p>\n

MAIE is an association of individuals that advances international education, exchange, and global workforce development and services. The organization upholds and promotes standards of good practice, and provides training, professional development and networking opportunities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
