Ole Miss Men’s Tennis vs Texas A&M on Friday, April 11th, 2014 at the Palmer\/Salloum Tennis Center in Oxford, MS.<\/p><\/div>\n

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. \u2013 On the heels of a huge win by the Ole Miss men\u2019s tennis team last Friday to close out the SEC home schedule, Ricardo Jorge was named the SEC Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.<\/p>\n

Jorge (Tavira, Portugal) went 5-1 in singles and doubles last week to help the Rebels to a perfect 6-0 week, including the win over No. 10 Texas A&M in Coach Chadwick\u2019s last SEC home match of his career.\u00a0 It also marked the Rebels\u2019 first top-10 win of the season.<\/p>\n

After a loss at No. 2 doubles against the Aggies, Jorge rebounded to win his singles match in straight sets at No. 5 singles to give the Rebels a 2-0 lead.\u00a0 Against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Jorge played No. 1 singles for the first time ever.\u00a0\u00a0 He improved to 11-5 overall, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.<\/p>\n

Ole Miss will be in Nashville, Tenn., this week for the SEC Tournament Championship.\u00a0 The Rebels will face sixth-seeded Tennessee in the second round Thursday at 9 a.m.<\/p>\n
