Students move into their residence hall at the University of Mississippi.<\/p><\/div>\n

Fall is in the air. Not really, but we have experienced some unusually cool weather for July and the start of the fall semester is right around the corner, so I think that counts. It’s hard to believe, but in just three weeks (August 18-22), a whole new class of Ole Miss students will move into residence halls, many experiencing all the things you probably remember from when you left home for college: your parents helping you unload boxes and stock your room with extreme quantities of Ramen while the dad down the hall curses as he attempts to build a futon. Nostalgia aside, this means a lot of people will be on campus that week.<\/p>\n

To help out, Student Housing is looking for faculty, staff and community volunteers to assist with Move In once again this year. In 2013, more than 1,200 people volunteered, and the university is hoping for even more this year. I\u2019ve volunteered with a group from University Communications for the past two years, and it\u2019s a fun way to join the action, get out of the office and nab a free T-shirt. Maybe we\u2019ll even get another spell of cool weather.<\/p>\n
