\"Photo<\/a>The University of Mississippi Student Union Plaza will transform into an on-campus farmers\u2019 market and festival on Thursday, Oct. 16 as part of the fourth annual Food Day celebration, a nationwide celebration and movement toward healthy, affordable and sustainable food.<\/p>\n

The Food Day Farmers\u2019 Market and Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The event features a mobile farm bus, farmers selling local produce and educational displays by campus and community groups including the UM Food Bank, Real Food Rebels, the Oxford Community Garden, Good Food For Oxford Schools and others.<\/p>\n

During the festival, Blue Cross, Blue Shield chef Labron Alexander will perform a healthy cooking demonstration as part of the university\u2019s new wellness program, RebelWell.<\/p>\n

Campus Food Day events also include a screening of \u201cFed Up\u201d on Oct. 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the Overby Center Auditorium.\u00a0 Following the festival on Oct. 16, students will discuss \u201cThe State of the Food at UM,\u201d during a panel discussion in the Overby Center Auditorium from 5:30 p.m. \u2013 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
