The Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts is hosting an art exhibition through Oct. 25 to showcase the talents of university faculty.<\/p>\n

The University of Mississippi Art Department Faculty Exhibition features more than\u00a0a dozen works of art by 11 faculty members.<\/p>\n

Carlyle Wolfe, adjunct assistant professor for art foundations, said the Ford Center is a beautiful venue and a great place for a gallery.<\/p>\n

“I like things that are collaborative across campus,” she said. “Our department connection with those that see shows at the Ford Center is great because we have a common interest.”<\/p>\n

Wolfe, whose works have been featured across the South in 14 previous exhibits, said her oil painting on display at the Ford Center is based on early morning colors peeking through a canopy of leaves.<\/p>\n

“I would sit early in the morning until I saw some color event that was inspiring,” she said.<\/p>\n

This is the third exhibition to be housed the gallery of the Ford Center and the first featuring work of university faculty. The next exhibition will begin at the end of the month and will feature photographs of Tibet for\u00a0the upcoming performance “Mystical Arts of Tibet: Sacred Music Sacred Dance.” The exhibition will run until the performance on Nov. 20.<\/p>\n

The art exhibition is free to view. Tickets are available for performances on the Ford Center website<\/a> or at the UM Box Office located inside the Ole Miss Student Union.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
