\"unnamed\"<\/a>As an alumnus of the University of Mississippi, the opportunities are endless. The Ole Miss Alumni Association is not just confined to Oxford, or even the state.<\/p>\n

More than 70 alumni clubs are scattered across the nation, with a total of more than\u00a026,000 active members. These clubs provide not only camaraderie, but also valuable networking opportunities.<\/p>\n

After graduation, I lived in New York City for a brief time. Because of alumni organizations in the city, I became great friends with fellow graduates and had a group in the city that I could go to for advice, both socially and professionally. The various get-togethers held throughout the year give members an\u00a0opportunity to meet and mingle. Although I moved across the country and knew no one, I still had the Ole Miss family, for which I am extremely grateful.<\/p>\n

Chancellor Dan Jones, Athletics Director Ross Bjork and Coach Hugh Freeze visit some\u00a040 clubs each year, allowing members who\u00a0live hundreds of miles from Oxford to continue to be part of Ole Miss.<\/p>\n

Also, members have travel opportunities around the world, throughout the country for athletics events and exclusive events to meet other graduates.<\/p>\n

Alumnus and poet Frank Everett said it best, \u201cThe university is respected, but Ole Miss is loved. The university gives a diploma and regretfully terminates tenure, but one never graduates from Ole Miss.\u201d \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Ole Miss is not only a university, but it\u2019s an identity. So no matter where you go, Ole Miss is great institution to claim, and for that, we are thankful.<\/p>\n
