\"unnamed\"<\/a>The University of Mississippi Museum has the widest range of collections of any museum between Jackson and Memphis.<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s right here on our beautiful campus.<\/p>\n

The museum offers permanent exhibits as well as special shows year-round.<\/p>\n

This Georgia O’Keeffe painting is among the museum’s highlights.<\/p><\/div>\n

Its permanent collection includes\u00a0Greek and Roman antiquities that date back to 1500 B.C., an American art collection featuring a Georgia O\u2019Keeffe painting and a collection of scientific instruments from the 19th\u00a0century used to teach university students right here at Ole Miss from 1848 to 1861.<\/p>\n

A collection of Greek and Roman antiquities are part of the University Museum’s permanent collection.<\/p><\/div>\n

But the museum offers so much more. For example, one\u00a0temporary\u00a0exhibit is titled “Bloomingdale\u2019s Fashion Touchdown,” featuring unique football helmets by world-famous designers. It will be on display until Jan. 17.<\/p>\n

There is something at the museum for everyone, from art enthusiasts and history buffs to science majors and football fans.<\/p>\n

The museum also offers several after-school children\u2019s programs to become more engaged in the community. Those programs include weekend and summer children’s programs as well as three Family Activity Days per semester.<\/p>\n

Children participate in activities at the University Museum.<\/p><\/div>\n

We have a wonderful opportunity right here at Ole Miss to view amazing works of art, become more culturally aware and informed and become inspired. And for that, we are thankful.<\/p>\n

The museum is celebrating its 75th\u00a0anniversary and is offering free admission to visitors for the entire year.<\/p>\n
