Joanne Mitchell<\/p><\/div>\n

The UM Staff Council has chosen Joanne Mitchell, a communications specialist for the Department of Writing and Rhetoric, as November’s Staff Member of the Month. She answered a few questions for Inside Ole Miss to help us get to know her better.<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong>\u00a0How long have you worked at Ole Miss?<\/span><\/p>\n

Mitchell:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>I started in April 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>What is your hometown?<\/span><\/p>\n

Mitchell:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>I am originally from Southaven.<\/span><\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>What is your favorite Ole Miss memory?<\/span><\/p>\n

Mitchell:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>This football season has been pretty special. Beating Alabama was definitely a highlight, but the team has been so impressive in each and every game. I love that they never give up. I have enjoyed being able to celebrate (or occasionally commiserate) with my friends and family at the games and the tailgates.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>What do you enjoy most about your position or the department in which you work?<\/span><\/p>\n

Mitchell:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>I work in a department with what I consider the best people on campus. We are very collaborative, and everyone pitches in to get things done. I love that my position allows me to be creative and make use of my artistic skills.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

IOM:\u00a0<\/b><\/span>What do you like to do when you are not at work?<\/span><\/p>\n

Mitchell:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>I\u00a0<\/span>love to throw a party, whether it’s at my house or tailgating in the Grove. I can be found at almost every home football and baseball game.<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>What is one thing on your bucket list?<\/span><\/p>\n

Mitchell:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>I have never been to Europe. It is definitely on my bucket list. My must visits would be: London, Scotland, Paris, Rome, Florence, Venice and Prague.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I<\/span>OM:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>What is your favorite movie?<\/span><\/p>\n

Mitchell:<\/strong>\u00a0“<\/span>Almost Famous”<\/span><\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>What are three words you would use to describe yourself?<\/span><\/p>\n

Mitchell:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>Creative. Cheerful. Problem-Solver.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>If you could visit one time or place in world history, what would it be?<\/span><\/p>\n

Mitchell:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>I would want to see what the future holds in 100 years. I can’t imagine what kinds of technology we will have access to at that time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
