OXFORD, Miss. \u2013 To show their appreciation for all the work Oxford and Lafayette County employees do to assist the University of Mississippi with its home football games, Ole Miss officials donated 500 tickets to the Ole Miss-Vanderbilt football game to the two local governments.<\/p>\n

The donation was made Thursday afternoon on the steps of Oxford City Hall.<\/p>\n

“Ole Miss, the city of Oxford and Lafayette County work closely together on many issues,” said Perry Sansing, UM associate general counsel and special assistant to the chancellor for governmental affairs. “On game day, the city and the county do so much to ensure that our fans enjoy the best game day experience in the nation.\u00a0Chancellor Morris Stocks and Athletics Director Ross Bjork decided to recognize our partners by donating Ole Miss-Vanderbilt football tickets to the city and the county for use by their employees and family members.”<\/p>\n

Some of those participating in the donation Thursday included Stocks; Pat Patterson, mayor of Oxford; Jeff Busby, president of the Lafayette County Board of Supervisors; Jennifer Reddit, deputy circuit clerk; Larry Sparks, UM vice chancellor for administration and finance; Katrina Horn, city planner; Sonja Pettis, Lafayette County deputy clerk; Jay Chain, city prosecutor; Michael Thompson, UM senior associate athletic director of communications and marketing; and Lisa Carwyle, city clerk.<\/p>\n

The Ole Miss-Vanderbilt game is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 26) at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
