Ole Miss has four teams with perfect GSR scores and 10 at or above the national average.<\/p><\/div>\n

OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Mississippi’s athletics programs are\u00a0enjoying a great start to the 2015-16 year, with football and soccer both ranked in the top 25, but the success doesn\u2019t end on the fields and courts for the Rebels. In the latest NCAA Graduation Success Rate Report released Wednesday, Ole Miss recorded the highest GSR – 80 percent – in school history.<\/p>\n

The Rebels are also graduating at a higher rate than the general student population.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the most critical measures that we can use to examine the effectiveness of a Student-Athlete Development Program is graduation success,\u201d said Derek Cowherd, senior associate athletics director for student-athlete development support. \u201cWe have seen consistent improvement in our teams\u2019 and overall graduation success, culminating in our highest graduation success rate in school history.\u00a0 It is further proof that under Ross Bjork\u2019s leadership, our student-athletes are being prepared to compete at the highest levels of collegiate sports.\u201d<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s basketball, who opens its season Friday with an exhibition game, posted a perfect 100 GSR, as did women\u2019s golf, volleyball and rifle. Women\u2019s golf has achieved this feat seven straight years, while volleyball earned it for the fifth year in a row. It marked the third year in a row for women\u2019s basketball to have a perfect score and the second for rifle.<\/p>\n

Baseball, men\u2019s basketball, men\u2019s tennis, soccer, softball and women\u2019s tennis, joined women\u2019s golf, women\u2019s basketball, volleyball and rifle with a GSR at or above the overall national average (83 percent).<\/p>\n

In addition, baseball, men\u2019s basketball, rifle, women\u2019s basketball, women\u2019s golf, volleyball, softball and soccer scored above the national average in their respective sports.<\/p>\n
