Join 100,000 of your Ole Miss friends at the 2016 Sugar Bowl<\/p><\/div>\n

Thousands of Rebel faithful will celebrate the New Year at the 2016 Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans as they watch the Ole Miss Rebels take on Oklahoma State.<\/p>\n

While there’s no shortage of activities in the Big Easy, here are some attractions and events to keep in mind on this year’s bowl vacation:<\/p>\n

Sugar Bowl Events
\n<\/b><\/h2>\n

Wednesday, Dec. 30<\/b><\/p>\n

Allstate Fan Fest\u00a0\u2013 Noon <\/span><\/span>to 8 p.m.<\/p>\n

Located in the Jax Brewery parking lot off Decatur Street (418 North Peters St.), this event will feature pep rallies, football-themed activities and musical performances to get you pumped and excited for the big show.<\/p>\n

Sugar Bowl Soiree\u00a0<\/span><\/span>featuring Deuce McAllister \u2013<\/span><\/span> 5 to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

The New Orleans Ole Miss Club will host fans arriving to the city to Deuce McAllister’s Ole Saint Kitchen & Tap on Royal Street. Mingle with fellow alums and enjoy an appearance by Deuce himself.<\/p>\n

Thursday, December 31<\/b><\/p>\n

Allstate Fan Fest \u2013<\/span><\/span> Noon to 6 p.m.<\/p>\n

Enjoy day two of football fun and activities off Decatur Street before New Year’s Eve festivities begin.<\/p>\n

Allstate Sugar Bowl New Year’s Eve Parade \u2013<\/span><\/span> 3:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

This annual Mardi-Gras style parade will begin at Elysian Fields Avenue and Decatur Street and move along Decatur, past Jackson Square and the Fan Fest, ending at Canal Street. Get there early and grab a spot along the\u00a0<\/span>route<\/span>!<\/p>\n

Ole Miss Bowl Bash \u2013<\/span><\/span> 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.<\/p>\n

Ring in the New Year with your fellow Rebels at the Sheraton New Orleans, sponsored by Rebel Rags. Tickets are $25 in advance and can be ordered\u00a0<\/span>here<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Crescent City Countdown<\/a>\u00a0\u2013<\/span><\/span> 9 p.m. to midnight<\/p>\n

The biggest New Year’s celebration in the city will take place on Jackson Square as live music and visitors will help count down to the New Year. There will be a giant Fleur de Lis drop and fireworks over the Mississippi River at midnight. Don’t miss it!<\/p>\n

Friday, January 1\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Alumni Association Official Ole Miss Pregame Party \u2013<\/span><\/span> 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

This is your Grove away from home. Join fellow alumni at Club XLIV and Encore, just steps from the Superdome in Champions Square.\u00a0<\/span>Tickets<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>are $50 and include a variety of N’Awlins style food.<\/p>\n

Allstate Sugar Bowl Fan Jam\u00a0\u2013<\/span><\/span> 4 p.m.<\/p>\n

This is a massive tailgate party for the game, in Champions Square just outside the Superdome. Fan Jam is free and will feature live music, plenty of food and appearances by the Ole Miss Pride of the South Marching Band and spirit squads.<\/p>\n

Allstate Sugar Bowl \u2013<\/span><\/span> 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

This is what we’ve all been waiting for the past 46 years. Be early. Be loud!<\/p>\n

Attractions<\/b><\/p>\n

Cafe du Monde<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

No matter how many times you visit New Orleans, this is a must-stop. Beignets and cafe au laits, 24 hours a day. Do you need another reason?<\/p>\n

National WWII Museum\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

This museum tells the story of World War II and remembers those who fought and died. It features special exhibits, films and audio stories from WWII veterans. This is a must-see for history buffs.<\/p>\n

Jackson Square<\/p>\n

The beautiful, historic park in the French Quarter is home to St. Louis Cathedral, street performers and is surrounded by plenty of shops and restaurants. Stop by!<\/p>\n

Haunted Tours\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

If you’re into haunted history, there’s plenty of it in New Orleans. There’s also plenty of ways to see it. Several shops offer haunted tours of the French Quarter or cemetery tours, full of information about the history of the city.<\/p>\n

The Shops at Canal Place<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Get some retail therapy accomplished here with a wide range of stores, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Michael Kors, J Crew and Anthropologie.<\/p>\n

French Market<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

This six-block stretch of shopping features a local flea market with art and jewelry, a farmer’s market, cafes and much more!<\/p>\n

Preservation Hall\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

This musical venue in the heart of the French Quarter is a great place to catch some live jazz and get in touch with the city’s culture.<\/span><\/p>\n
