As stewards of the <a href=\"http:\/\/olemiss.edu\/info\/creed.html\" target=\"_blank\">UM Creed<\/a>, we all have a responsibility to help create a safe environment for everyone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; word-spacing: 0px;\">To educate all employees on how we can better serve our students and peers, the <a href=\"http:\/\/eorc.olemiss.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Department of Equal Opportunity and Regulatory Compliance<\/a> will begin a mandatory training for faculty and staff on Tuesday (Nov. 8), with a goal of having all employees trained by Dec. 21. The training will also be a requirement for all new hires going forward.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; word-spacing: 0px;\">&#8220;The training helps support the university&#8217;s commitment to creating and fostering a safe and educational environment where all members of our community can thrive,&#8221; said Becki Bressler, director of equal opportunity and regulatory compliance. &#8220;It also ensures that our faculty and staff have the proper skill set to assist one another and students.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; word-spacing: 0px;\">All faculty and staff will receive an email Tuesday (Nov. 8) from &#8220;Workplace Answers eLearning.&#8221; The email will include a link to the online training that must be completed by Dec. 21.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; word-spacing: 0px;\">Reminders will be sent before Dec. 21.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; word-spacing: 0px;\">For more information, contact Honey Ussery, Title IX Coordinator, at 662-915-7045.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Putting an end to discrimination and sexual violence on our campus is an important topic to everyone at the University of Mississippi.
