\n\"world.jpg\"OXFORD, Miss. – The annual WorldFest at the University of
\nMississippi Tuesday (April 15) brings together people of
\ndifferent nationalities in the Grove to encourage
\ninternational relationships and cooperation.
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\nWorldFest is a campuswide event providing an opportunity
\nfor UM’s American and international students to “interact
\nin a spirit of international friendship and cross-cultural
\nunderstanding,” said Tim Woodard, international programs
\nadviser.
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nThe festival, scheduled 4-9 p.m., is free and open to the
\npublic. The event is organized by the Office of
\nInternational Programs and co-sponsored by the Croft
\nInstitute for International Studies and the Ole Miss
\nParents Association.
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nThe opening ceremony includes a colorful presentation of
\ninternational flags at the Walk of Champions and is to be
\nfollowed by three distinct events: WorldGames, FoodFest and
\nWorldStage.
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nWorldGames offers a wide variety of sports and games from
\naround the world. The event “brings international and U.S.
\nstudents together to learn more about each other’s cultures
\nin a fun and exciting way,” Woodard said.
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nFoodFest, beginning at 5 p.m., celebrates different
\ncultures by offering samples of various native cuisine.
\nSome of the food is to be prepared by natives of the
\nrepresented country.
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nWorldStage, beginning on the Grove Pavilion at 6:30 p.m.,
\nfeatures Ole Miss students in a variety of performances and
\ncultural programs. All students are invited to sing, dance
\nand play musical instruments native to their cultures.
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
