Beginning Monday (Feb. 8), the UM School of Business Administration hosts a series of 7 p.m. lectures on topics such as “Ethics in the Era of Hyperaccountability.” The lectures are slated for Holman Hall Auditorium and are free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
For the opening lecture, Patrick Kuhse, who spent three years on the run from authorities after embezzling money as a stockbroker, will speak on “The Eight Slippery Steps to Unethical Behavior.” Kuhse spent four years in federal prison following his years in the Costa Rican jungle and spends his time speaking on the importance of ethical behavior.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday (Feb. 9), Samford University business professor John Knapp will lecture on “Ethics in the Era of Hyperaccountability.” Knapp is the director for the Frances Marlin Mann Center for Ethics & Leadership at Samford. He is the author of “Common Good: the Ethics of Leadership in the 21st Century” and a regular contributor to BusinessWeek magazine, The New York Times, Sports Illustrated, National Public Radio and Bloomberg News Service.<\/p>\n
On Thursday (Feb. 11), Notre Dame marketing professor Patrick Murphy will lecture on “Ethical Business in the 21st Century.” Murphy is co-director of the Institute for Ethical Business Worldwide in the Mendoza College of Business at Notre Dame. He is the author of “Eighty Exemplary Ethics Statements” and a fellow of the Ethics Resource Center in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n
